Our brains are made up of a soft tissue loaded with a huge number nerve cells called neurons that are linked together in a very complex network. Groups of neurons work together for every bodily function, memory recall, new learning or thinking tasks. Most of those cells fire electrical signals to communicate back and forth. Sort of like the paging file on a computer. When a certain file or hard disk sector is maxed out, the computer will create a temporary RAM (Random Access Memory) area to help finish processing that request.
